Earthquakes Canada says a magnitude 6.1 earthquake has been recorded off the west coast of Vancouver Island
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 struck off the coast of Vancouver Island on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake occurred at 5:38 a.m. PST and was centered about 125 kilometers west-northwest of Port Hardy, British Columbia.
Earthquakes Canada, a federal agency that monitors seismic activity in the country, said the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.1 and was located about 210 kilometers west of Port Hardy.
Earthquakes Canada said there were no reports of damage or injuries.
